Twelve years after the first circle recorded in Florence, Lunàdigas returns to document a meeting collecting testimonies on the relationship with motherhood, between desire, rejection and uncertainty.
With The Melograno Circle – twelve years on different paths reappear, in which the choice to have children is intertwined with work, relationships, the material conditions of life and the changes that time brings with it. An open, pluralistic and non-normative discussion on motherhood, which also addresses the issue of surrogacy, and which we have thought of as a bridge that will take us to the Pride.
But first an important date: On May 26th at 10 am at the University Theater of La Sapienza we will screen the film Lunàdigas, or concerning childfree women, in a free public meeting open to everyone in which Nicoletta Nesler, Silvia Moretti and Daniela Travaglini of the Lunàdigas collective will participate.
With our eyes always focused on bodies, relationships and contemporary forms of affectivity, we continue to create places where people, ALL of them, can tell their stories outside the obligations and roles imposed, beyond narrow and stringent definitions, simplifications and prejudices.
In this spirit, we will participate in the fifth edition of SanLo Pride, the widespread and shared Pride organized by the association Le Tre Ghinee in the San Lorenzo district of Rome.
Four days of pride, demands and desires to cross streets, squares and spaces of the neighborhood within a self-organized, transfeminist and queer festival that focuses on the bodies, relationships, stories, resistances and joys of marginalized subjectivities.
For the occasion, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, in the spaces of QUELLE, the Lunàdigas headquarters in San Lorenzo, we will open a new testimonial collection campaign dedicated to the themes of queerness and identities, to the ways in which we choose to love each other, to be together in this world, to build relationships and communities even outside of what we have always been taught to be just, adequate, even natural.
And, even before the relationship, we talk about the connection between bodies and power with Claudia Mazzilli, who in the Stories section of the Lunàdigas website reads Sociologia della maternità (Sociology of Motherhood) by Davide De Sanctis, Sara Fariello and Irene Strazzeri (Mimesis, 2020)**.
The idea is to continue spreading and listening to stories of freedom, self-discovery, chosen and unimposed families, desires, transformations, small and big acts of daily resistance.
With the joy of being there
With the awareness of what we have achieved
With the determination to achieve what we have not yet attained
But which we will claim.
Without fear, without having to hide or justify ourselves, let us speak out to defend our right to live life to the full, in every corner of the world, in our own skin.
