Irem elenca i giudizi impliciti e espliciti che subiscono le donne senza figli in Turchia. Per le donne sposate, si presuppone che l'assenza di figli sia conseguenza esclusivamente di problemi di salute; le donne non sposate, invece, sono tacciate di egoismo.

Irem: "In Turkey no one thinks of it as a free choice"
Irem lists the implicit and explicit judgements suffered by childfree women in Turkey. For married women, not having a child is assumed to be a consequence of health problems only; unmarried women, on the other hand, are accused of selfishness.
